Retention Import

Add the retention graph from your own Instagram or TikTok insights and see how close the prediction came.

LivePro

Overview

Instagram and TikTok draw a retention graph inside their own apps and send it to no app at all, so the screenshot on your phone is the only copy of it. Retention Import reads that screenshot, draws your real curve over the predicted one, and scores how close the prediction landed. It is the only way to close that loop on either platform.

How it works

  1. 1

    Open your insights

In Instagram or TikTok, open the video and view its insights, then screenshot the retention graph with the times along the bottom.

  2. 2

    Add the screenshot

On the analysis for that video, add the screenshot under the retention curve and choose which app it came from.

  3. 3

    Read the comparison

Your real curve is drawn over the prediction, labelled as coming from your screenshot, with how many points the prediction was out.

What you get

  • Your real retention curve drawn over the predicted one
  • How close the prediction landed, in retention points
  • The comparison recorded in Prediction Accuracy alongside your measured videos

Important details

  • YouTube is not included because YouTube reports the real curve itself, so there is nothing to import.
  • An imported graph is your own screenshot read by Retensis, not a measurement either platform sent us. It is shown separately from measured videos and is never used to tune future predictions.
  • We keep the curve and not the picture: the screenshot is read and discarded.
  • The graph has to be for the video being analyzed. A graph covering a different length of video is refused rather than recorded.
